Let’s face it; a musical variety radio program was in my destiny. I was born one month after the Lawrence Welk Show debuted on National TV and during my mother’s pregnancy; I was prenatal-induced to variety music radio programs.

One such program was the WSBT AM-960 Polish Hour (South Bend, Indiana and hosted by Froncek Czyzewski and his wife Irene). In fact, my first “live radio” experience was helping the WSBT Polish Hour from 1978 1988. At that time, to me anyways, radio seemed like an entertainment stage in a broadcast booth.

About 1975 I started tinkering with a stereo turntable, cassette tape decks plus microphones and formed my own 120 volt radio station called WSTAN am-fm. Now that’s real techno-electronic! It was fun writing scripts, selecting music and hearing comments from those whom I gave cassettes of my very primitive radio DJ efforts.

As one of the WRHC-LP pioneer programs, Musical Memories debuted in February-March 2006 and still weekly airs thanks to listeners who believe in this all-volunteer community radio station. Over the years my show has “evolved” yet I still adhere to that simple philosophy to play music that makes someone smile and feel carefree while listening to the radio! Hold onto your dreams and always keep a Musical Memories in your heart !
